Mod Update Checker (MUC)

With this mod, creators can now provide update notifications through:

✅ one central signed registry
✅ local version comparisons
✅ stable and prerelease channels
✅ creator-controlled official update pages
✅ no automatic downloads
✅ no Mods-folder scanning
✅ public source code

MUC retrieves one signed public registry, compares it locally with declarations supplied by compatible installed mods, writes a readable report, and can display one summary in-game notification when updates are available.

MUC does not download, install, import, replace, or execute mod files.

Compatible mods opt in through a small declaration package in their mod.

Every official release provides two ZIP archives:

• Use the PLAYER archive for a normal game installation.
• Use the MODDER archive when creating an integration package for another mod.

Installation instructions are inside the ZIP.

⚠️ MUC does nothing by itself. Players should install it only when a mod creator states that their mod supports it.
