Your Sims no longer have to eat cold leftovers straight from the fridge! 😋🔥 Heat Up Leftovers adds new interactions allowing Sims to warm up food in the microwave before eating, making stored meals feel much more practical and natural. 🍽️✨

✨ How does it work?

When there is a microwave on the lot, new interactions will appear on both the fridge and the food items.

👧 Children and older Sims can use these interactions.

🍽️ Heat Up Leftovers and Eat Allows you to select a leftover meal, heat it up, and then eat it.

🔥 Heat Up and Eat You can also use this option directly on specific food items.

Starting the interaction triggers an automatic sequence:

1️⃣ The Sim takes a serving or picks up the food. 2️⃣ They look for an available microwave. 3️⃣ They walk over to it. 4️⃣ They perform the heating interaction. 5️⃣ Finally, they take the food with them and eat it. 😋

🎭 New Moodlets

After reheating leftovers, Sims may receive various food-related buffs. 💭✨

🍰 For cakes, they may occasionally receive a cake-related buff.

🍕 Pizzas can also occasionally generate a pizza-related buff.

🤖 Does it work autonomously?

Yes! ✨

The new interactions can be used autonomously, meaning Sims might choose to use them when they need to eat.

⚠️ However, there is no 100% guarantee that a Sim will automatically reheat leftovers every time they are satisfying their hunger need.

⏱️ Control for freshly cooked meals

To prevent the reheat option from appearing immediately after cooking a meal, the mod includes a check:

🧊 The food must be stored in the fridge, or ⏰ At least 25 minutes must have passed since it was cooked. As such, the interaction is designed primarily for leftovers rather than freshly prepared meals. 🍽️

📡 Microwave animation limitation

⚠️ There is a minor technical limitation regarding the animation.

The Sim simulates using the microwave, but the actual animation of physically placing the food inside and taking it out is not used.

During the process:

📦 The food is temporarily hidden in the Sim's inventory. 📡 The Sim performs a microwave-use animation. 🍽️ Afterward, they proceed with the meal as usual.

The food will not be visible inside the microwave during this part of the interaction.
