👁️ ABOUT THE MOD: REALISTIC VISION & OPTOMETRY HEALTH

This project is a comprehensive Spanish localization for Eye Care, an in-depth medical and wellness overhaul mod developed by adeepindigo.

While Sims can wear glasses as accessories in CAS, Eye Care brings meaningful realism to optical health. Your Sims can now be diagnosed with genuine vision problems, visit the optometrist for exams, purchase corrective glasses or contact lenses, manage chronic conditions, or undergo corrective laser surgery:

• VISION INSURANCE SYSTEM: Households automatically receive vision insurance coverage if at least one Young Adult, Adult, or Elder Sim holds a job. Insurance grants a 40% discount on optical exams and specialized surgeries. If all Sims become unemployed, the policy lapses until someone finds work.
• PROGRESSIVE EYE HEALTH & DETERIORATION: Sims are assigned a hidden trait determining natural eye health. Over time, eyesight deteriorates naturally with age or through intense screen time (computers, tablets, TVs, phones), heavy reading, and knitting.
• OPTOMETRIST APPOINTMENTS & PRESCRIPTIONS: Schedule eye exams via phone every 21 days. Optometrists assess visual acuity, notify Sims of diagnosed conditions, and prescribe either corrective glasses (assigned via CAS) or invisible contact lenses.
• FOUR COMMON & SERIOUS EYE CONDITIONS:
  • Nearsightedness & Farsightedness: Causes intermittent blurry vision, dizziness, eye strain, and painful headaches.
  • Cataracts & Glaucoma: Prevalent in adults and elders. Glaucoma is managed with daily medicated eye drops, while severe cataracts can be surgically removed via an outpatient procedure that also corrects underlying refractive errors.
  • Conjunctivitis (Pink Eye): Common in children and teens, lasting 2 to 3 days and accelerating fun and hygiene decay.
• CORRECTIVE LASER EYE SURGERY: Eligible Young Adults and Adults can permanently cure nearsightedness or farsightedness through laser procedures within a 14-day scheduling window.
• SOCIAL INTERACTIONS & DIALOGUES: Sims can complain about poor eyesight, express frustration about wearing glasses, tease others, or brag about having perfect 20/20 vision.

🛠️ STEP-BY-STEP INSTALLATION GUIDE

1. DOWNLOAD THE ORIGINAL MOD: Download the base mod files directly from adeepindigo's official itch.io page.
2. DOWNLOAD THIS TRANSLATION: Download the .package file from the Files tab on this project.
3. PLACE IN MODS FOLDER:
   • Move both the original mod and this translation package into:
     Documents \ Electronic Arts \ The Sims 4 \ Mods
   • Keep both files in the same subfolder (do not bury script files deeper than one subfolder level inside Mods). Do not remove or alter the 1_ prefix from the translation filename so your game maintains your custom load order.
4. ENABLE IN-GAME MODS:
   • Open The Sims 4 and go to Game Options > Other.
   • Check "Enable Custom Content and Mods" and "Script Mods Allowed".
5. CLEAR GAME CACHE: Delete localthumbcache.package located in Documents \ Electronic Arts \ The Sims 4 before launching to ensure all new localized strings load cleanly.
