Description

Ikinari Dango (Sudden Dango) is a steam bun made with a thick slice of sweet potato, topped with a layer of red bean paste and wrapped in dough. It is a specialty of Kumamoto prefecture in Japan. The origin of its name is said to be a combination of the meaning of "dumpling that can be served immediately when guests suddenly arrive" and the meaning of the word "ikinari", which means cooking with raw sweet potatoes.
