Cleaning Skill

Day in, day out, our Sims perform the grieviously mundane task of cleaning, with little to no reward aside from the survivalist goal of keeping the household's cleanliness afloat to prevent it from falling into disarray.

However, no matter how much experience your Sims have when it comes to cleaning up, they will not get any faster at it without the assistance of a purchased reward trait. A necessary reference is that the reward trait Speed Cleaner, which your Sims have to purchase from the rewards store, makes Sims "tidy up much faster" by applying a stat use multiplier of 5 to the increase of commodity_dirtiness on the participant. This translates to the process of cleaning becoming much faster for Sims with that trait.

This mod makes it so that your Sims can also gradually increase their Cleaning Skill, a custom ten-level skill, and become faster at cleaning the more they perform cleaning interactions, benefiting from their labor over time. 

Following the baseline trend the Speed Cleaner trait itself established, ranking up on the Cleaning Skill will apply that same multiplier the trait does, but now, it scales your Sim's cleaning skill. Level 2 Cleaning Skill? That multiplier will be 1.25. Level 3 will be a multiplier of 1.5, and by the same logic Level 4 will provide one of 2. And upon reaching the skill's maximum level of 10, your Sim, through their hard work, will be as fast at cleaning as if they had purchased the Speed Cleaner trait. 

Note that a Speed Cleaner with Level 10 Cleaning Skill will be able to perform cleaning interactions almost instantly.

Sims with Level 8 or higher Cleaning Skill will be able to access the Cleaning Frenzy of the Neat trait (likelier to clean autonomously while this buff is activated) if their surroundings are dirty enough to trigger the discomfort buff.

Now with skill books! They're tagged under the Logic Genre because otherwise they wouldn't show up, though. Beyond that, just treat them as normal skill books.

Compatibility:

This mod is base-game compatible.

HOWEVER, you will notice there are now two additional packages as part of the mod. This is the tuning for the skill books. If you use my Skill Book Usage mod, delete the_EA .package. And if you don't, the opposite is true, delete the _SkillBookUsage .package. You must have one or the others, and errors may arise if you keep both or delete them both.

This mod will conflict with any other mod that alters the following XMLs: Puddle_Mop_Energized [13836], Puddle_Mop_Energized_Large [27291], Puddle_Mop_Energized_Small [27290], puddle_Mop_Energized_Small_Vomit [173925], Puddle_Mop_Small [27284], Puddle_Mop_Large [27285], Puddle_Mop [13835], and puddle_Mop_Small_Vomit [173924].
