Floorplan - bedrooms: 6 total, 7 if you count the laundry room. All 3 floors. A primary bedroom with en suite and walk-in closet + private balcony on the first floor, flanked by a child's room (1 toddler) and a secondary bedroom (sleeps two), with hall bath. Second floor is home to the butler's room, plus two additional unfinished bedroom/bathroom combos - 1 primary, 1 secondary, both with walk-in closets and en suite. All 3 second floor bedrooms feature skylights.
- common areas: Huge. Wow. My feet hurt just walking around taking pictures. *Deep breath* Entering the home deposits you at the passageway, with the primary stairway to the first floor, left flank hall to the three-car mechanic's dream garage, large archway into the primary living space, and back hallways to both the laundry room / rear entrance, and the formal entertaining room. Ground floor private office is perfect for finishing that manuscript you always dreamed of. Second floor common balcony with exceptional views.
Interior features: Primary living space includes massive floor to ceiling windows offering fantastic views of Llama Lagoon. Chef's kitchen includes chef's table, island with seating, high end appliances, an espresso-making station, and a maid's laundry room. This room could, in a pinch, host your maid.. Or house-sitter. It does already have a bed. The primary living space offers extended ceilings, plenty of art, and so much charm, plus a massive fireplace. The formal entertaining room offers a full-service bar, seating for 14 at dinner, a gigantic projection TV with wrap-around couch to suit, and an attached full bath. First floor offers nice views, but not much communal. It's the second floor where coming together and entertaing gets interesting - on the shared second floor rear deck, you can catch more amazing views of Llama Lagoon, another bar with seating, and all-glass railing, plus a great spot to stargaze.
Exterior features: If "ultra-modern" and "brutalist/Bahaus" had a baby and that baby was modeled after a 3D rendering in a Netflix show. Big square frameless windows, blanched stone, white trim, blonde wood paneling and thicc pillars accentuate this very large, very modern and unapologetic home. At the front of the home is the gravel drive, which leads to the covered front stoop/front door, and the 3 bay garage. Around back, you'll find on ground level full stone pathing, a private BBQ area with table, lush landscaping, private gardening area, some bees, a vent said bees could get through, and a back entrance.
Three SimPrime favorite things about this home:
- BEEEEEEEEEEEEES! No seriously, there's a Bee Box here. And a suspicious looking vent not far away. Is this how they're getting in..??
- This was the first home I ever used multi-story ceilings in, and the first one I ever tried to build from a few reference pictures and just watching a TV show.
- The skylights in this home are top notch - extra large, and offer great views of the night sky, or extra sun.
ETC: This is based on the home in the Netflix show Man vs Bee, and interestingly enough is a home that doesn't really exist. It was filmed during the COVID lockdowns of 2020, and so it was entirely 3D modeled in green screen. The artist behind it is credited as Carly Reddin - thanks Carly + team for your work plus an awesome idea and challenge, building this was extremely hard and I think it came out excellently. I had to use a lot of platforms and build tricks to get this to work right and pay a real homage to the show, which I adored. I made this prior to Growing Together, but I think those extra bedrooms could be great for extended stay-overs or live-in extended family :)
