Hey Everyone 💜
After months of rebuilding, expanding, and refining, I'm so excited to finally release Version 2.0 of The Shopping Mod.
What originally started as a simple way to add a “buffer” before jumping into CAS has gradually evolved into a much larger shopping and retail gameplay system for The Sims 4.
I've always loved updating my Sims' wardrobes alongside changing seasons, major life events, new careers, or personality shifts - but going straight into CAS without any gameplay attached to it never felt quite right to me. As usual, I wanted to bring more realism to the experience.
With v2.0, The Shopping Mod has been completely expanded with new stores, shopping experiences, branded assets, collectible gameplay, blind boxes, luxury and budget retail options, and a much more immersive shopping experience overall.
Whether your Sims are browsing thrift stores, spending the day at the outlet mall, splurging on designer fashion, or chasing rare collectibles, shopping now feels much more connected to everyday gameplay and storytelling.
This update has easily been the biggest project I've worked on so far, and I'm genuinely so excited to finally share it with you all. Thank you so much for supporting my work and following along with the development process!

The Shopping Mod v2.0
The Shopping Mod adds expanded clothing shopping gameplay and retail experiences to The Sims 4.
Send your Sims on immersive shopping trips across a variety of retail destinations, from bargain thrift stores and outlet malls to luxury designer boutiques and exclusive VIP shopping experiences.
Shopping interactions are available by selecting your active Sim to access the 'Go Clothes Shopping...' menu, or alternatively through 'The Shopping Mod' phone app. Sims can shop alone, with household members, or alongside friends for a more social gameplay experience.
🛍️ Shopping Experiences
v2.0 introduces a much larger range of shopping destinations and experiences, including:
• Thrift Stores
• Big Box Retail
• Outlet Malls
• Department Stores
• Designer Boutiques
• Shopping Sprees
Shopping experiences vary depending on where your Sims choose to shop, with different pricing, shopping outcomes, branded bags, collectibles, and moodlets throughout the mod.
🎁 Shopping Bags & Collectibles
After returning home, Sims may receive branded shopping bags, collectibles, blind boxes, and other retail finds in their personal inventory depending on where they shopped.
Shopping bags can be displayed, collected, opened for surprises, or used to launch directly into CAS with the 'Change Sim' interaction for a more immersive wardrobe update experience.
✨ Personality & Trait Integration
Shopping outcomes are influenced by your Sims' personalities and lifestyles.
Materialistic Sims are more likely to overspend, obsess over luxury shopping, and receive unique shopping-related moodlets and interactions.
Freegan Sims prefer budget-friendly shopping experiences and receive reduced shopping costs alongside their own unique moodlets and reactions.
Important Info
Requirements: XML Injector + Base Game (No DLC Requirements).
The Freegan trait is only available if you own the Eco Lifestyle EP - the game will simply ignore those features if Eco Lifestyle is unowned
Conflicts: May conflict with any mods that alter the Materialistic or Freegan traits
Compatibility: Compatible with the 21 May patch PC: 1.124.63.1020 / Mac: 1.124.63.1220

- Added 'Go Clothes Shopping...' interaction to active Sim
- Added new shopping menus by store type, shopping sprees, and 'Browse All Shopping...'
- Added 15 new stores and 10 new shopping sprees by store type
- Retired the original store-type and shopping-spree interactions from v1.0
- Added 15 new shopping bag objects and additional retail assets
- Changed icon / branding from green to purple
- Updated the super coupon from 20% off all stores to 10% off selected shopping sprees
- Removed the 'Home Essentials' menu
- Improved strings for sim picker & interaction picker menus
