Investment Empire

Investment Empire v19.4.0 adds a complete financial gameplay system to The Sims 4, allowing households to create accounts, build wealth, choose investment profiles, transfer Simoleons, invest in different financial products, and react to a dynamic global economy.

Each save has its own persistent economic cycle, market history, rare events, household accounts, investments, and financial progression.

The mod is fully available in Brazilian Portuguese and English, automatically following the language selected in The Sims 4.

Financial Titles

A household’s combined wealth determines its financial title.

Combined wealth includes:

• Main account balance
• CDB investments
• LCI investments
• REIT investments

The available titles are:

Unranked

• Combined wealth below §10,000
• Weekly title bonus: 0.00%

Beginner Investor

• Combined wealth from §10,000 to §49,999
• Weekly title bonus: +0.10%

Experienced Investor

• Combined wealth from §50,000 to §9,999,999
• Weekly title bonus: +0.50%

Tycoon

• Combined wealth from §10,000,000 to §499,999,999
• Weekly title bonus: +1.50%

Financial Empire

• Combined wealth of §500,000,000 or more
• Weekly title bonus: +2.00%

Titles may increase or decrease according to the household’s current combined wealth Weekly title bonus: +2.00%

Titles may increase or decrease according.

A household may be promoted after growing its wealth or demoted after withdrawals, transfers, or investment losses.

Investment Profiles

Investment profiles determine the weekly result of the household’s main account.

Unavailable profiles remain completely hidden until the required financial title is reached.

Traditional

Available to all households with an initialized account.

• Guaranteed return: +0.10%

Conservative

Unlocked for Experienced Investors and higher.

• Guaranteed return: +1.00%

Moderate

Unlocked for Tycoons and higher.

• 70% chance of +2.00%
• 30% chance of -1.00%

Aggressive

Unlocked only for Financial Empires.

• 50% chance of +10.00%
• 50% chance of -8.00%

The first selected profile remains locked until the first weekly result is processed. After that, the household may change profiles normally.

Financial Market

All households with an initialized Investment Empire account can access the Financial Market.

The Financial Market includes three independent investment products:

• CDB
• LCI
• REITs, displayed as FIIs in Brazilian Portuguese

Each product has its own balance, transaction history, return period, and processing timer.

CDB

A defensive investment product designed for long-term returns.

• Return period: every 28 in-game days
• Base rate: 1.00%
• Usually performs better during unstable economic periods

LCI

An intermediate investment product.

• Return period: every 7 in-game days
• Base rate: 0.10%
• Can benefit from stronger economic growth

REITs

A market-sensitive investment product that pays daily dividends.

• Return period: every 1 in-game day
• Base rate: 0.01%
• Can provide stronger returns during favorable economic cycles
• May temporarily pay no dividends during a recession
• The invested principal is not directly reduced by economic cycles or rare events

Each product includes:

• Independent principal balance
• Custom deposits
• Custom withdrawals
• Independent processing timer
• Individual statement
• Total earnings
• Total amount paid to household funds
• Total amount automatically reinvested
• Number of processed periods
• Recent transaction history
• Current economic rate
• Next processing date and time

Additional deposits do not reset the active investment timer.

A full withdrawal stops that product’s timer until a new deposit is made.

Investment Portfolio

The Investment Portfolio provides a complete overview of the household’s finances.

It displays:

• Main account balance
• Total Financial Market balance
• Combined household wealth
• CDB principal and current rate
• LCI principal and current rate
• REIT principal and current rate
• Current economic cycle
• Active rare event
• Investment status
• Next processing date and time

Automatic Reinvestment

The Sims 4 limits household funds to §9,999,999.

When an investment return would exceed that limit, Investment Empire:

• Pays the amount that fits into household funds
• Automatically reinvests the remaining amount into the same product
• Preserves internal cents for accurate calculations
• Prevents earned returns from being lost

The system also reinvests internal fractional amounts that cannot be paid directly as whole Simoleons.

Dynamic Economic Cycles

Every save has its own persistent global economy.

The available economic cycles are:

• Recovery
• Expansion
• Euphoria
• Recession

Each cycle changes the return rates of CDB, LCI, and REITs.

Recovery

• CDB: 1.05%
• LCI: 0.12%
• REITs: 0.02%

Expansion

• CDB: 1.00%
• LCI: 0.15%
• REITs: 0.03%

Euphoria

• CDB: 0.90%
• LCI: 0.18%
• REITs: 0.06%

Recession

• CDB: 1.10%
• LCI: 0.05%
• REITs: 0.00%

During a recession, REITs temporarily stop paying dividends, but the invested principal remains protected.

Each investment period uses the economic conditions that were active at the exact moment the payment became due.

This also applies when overdue periods are processed after loading a save.

Rare Economic Events

Each natural economic transition has a 20% chance of starting a rare event.

Only one rare event can be active at a time.

Interest Rate Increase

Duration: 5 to 8 in-game days.

• CDB: +0.20%
• LCI: +0.05%
• REITs: -0.01%

Economic Stimulus

Duration: 4 to 7 in-game days.

• CDB: -0.05%
• LCI: +0.05%
• REITs: +0.02%

Exceptional Dividend Season

Duration: 3 to 5 in-game days.

Real Estate Crisis

The final investment rate is calculated as:

Base rate + economic cycle adjustment + rare event adjustment

Rates never fall below 0.00%.

Economic cycles and rare events never directly remove invested principal.

Automatic Financial News

The player receives notifications when:

• The economic cycle changes
• A rare event begins
• A rare event ends
• Overdue economic changes are processed
• Overdue investment periods are processed

When several changes are processed at the same time, Investment Empire consolidates them to prevent excessive notifications.

Automatic Processing

Investment Empire uses the internal The Sims 4 game clock.

The system supports:

• Normal game speed
• Accelerated game speed
• Pausing
• Traveling
• Switching households
• Saving and reopening the game
• Catch-up processing for overdue investment periods
• Catch-up processing for economic cycles and rare events

Investments do not progress while the game is paused.

When a save is loaded with overdue payments, the mod processes them chronologically using the economic cycle and rare event that were active at each due date.

The system also prevents duplicate payments and repeated processing.

Households without an initialized Investment Empire account only see:

After the account is initialized, the complete financial menu becomes available.

Switching households inside the same save preserves the shared global economy.

Installation

1. Download and install XML Injector if it is not already installed.
2. Remove all previous Investment Empire files from your Mods folder.
3. Place the new Investment Empire .package and .ts4script files inside your Mods folder.
4. Keep the .ts4script file no more than one subfolder deep.
5. Make sure XML Injector is also installed inside the Mods folder.
6. Delete localthumbcache.package from:

Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4

1. Open The Sims 4 and enable:
   • Custom Content and Mods
   • Script Mods Allowed
2. Restart The Sims 4 after enabling Script Mods.

Important

Investment Empire requires XML Injector to add its interactions to computers.

Without XML Injector, the Investment Empire menus may not appear in game.
