Overview

This mod tweaks various aspects of casting and learning spells in the Realm of Magic, making the Spellcaster career more challenging and engaging. Keep a careful watch on your Charge Meter!

Key Features

Copypasto Nerf

• What It Does:
  Casting Copypasto now consumes more Charge based on the value and rarity of the item duplicated (25–200 points per cast).
• Effect:
  Low-rank Spellcasters might only get one cast on an expensive item before risking an Overload.

Dedeathify Nerf

• What It Does:
  Casting Dedeathify now generates 300 points of Charge per cast.
• Effect:
  Spellcasters are almost guaranteed to Overload unless they pick up the appropriate perks.

Discharge Drain

• What It Does:
  Using Discharge now reduces your Sim’s Energy need by 15% (previously 0%).
• Effect:
  Helps manage Charge buildup and avoid Overloading.

Learning Changes

• New Tome Search Frequency:
  Sims can search for new tomes every 4 hours (down from 12 hours).
• Spell Request Cooldown:
  Sims can ask the Sages for spells once every 60 hours (up from 24 hours).
• Customization:
  Cooldown durations can be adjusted via settings.

More Charge Gain

• Spell Casting:
  All spells now generate 50 points of Charge per cast (up from 40).
• Magic Practice:
  Practicing magic now generates 2 points of Charge per tick (up from 0.25).
• Charge Control Perk:
  The perk now reduces Charge by 15% (down from 25%).

Settings

• Access:
  Via the Glimmerstone in a Spellcaster’s inventory or by shift-clicking a Sim and using the debug pie menu.
• Customization:
  All features can be toggled on/off, and the two cooldown values can be set to any positive number.
