This is a wall-mounted urn available in two types: "Without Portrait" and "With Portrait." Each type has two styles: Stone and Marble. The Marble style features a more reflective texture. You can find it in Build Mode by searching for "Simple Columbarium Niche."

• The "Assign To" option will only appear if someone your Sim knew has passed away. Ghost Sims cannot be assigned to their own niches.
• When you click on the "Assign To" option, a pop-up window will open, allowing you to assign the niche to any deceased Sim your character knew. Deceased Sims can be either playable or non-playable ghosts.
• ⚠️ Anyone can manually add an epitaph to any niche.
• New options will appear after engraving a custom epitaph. Note: For the base game (without the Portrait Niche), the Red interaction will not appear. However, if you own the Life and Death DLC and have the base game version of the alcove installed, the Red interaction will be available.
• ⚠️ If you leave the epitaph blank and select "Read Epitaph," the epitaph will automatically appear with the object's description.

🔸 Important Notes 🔸

• Once a niche has been assigned, it can only be reassigned to another deceased Sim, but cannot be unassigned.
• If a deceased Sim is permanently deleted using cheats, and the niche they were originally assigned to does not have an epitaph engraved, the default "RIP" epitaph will disappear. However, you can reassign the niche to someone else.
• On cemetery lots, Sims will autonomously perform funeral interactions with the niches and light candles. (The author did not add the "light the candle" option to the interaction to avoid candles being placed everywhere.)

↪ Translator's Experience:

This urn niche style exists in real life but not in the game, so I thought it would be worth sharing as an additional option for players. Unfortunately, it is not integrated into the menu that allows switching between urns/stones. Therefore, if you want to use this niche, you need to purchase it separately in Build Mode.

↪ Known Issues:

For versions without portraits, deceased Sims cannot be assigned to niches for the following reasons: (a) they are currently involved in a scenario event or (b) they have disappeared or been reborn.

↪ Issues Encountered During Testing:

I tested the version with portraits—walls turned off. When I assigned this version of the alcove to a deceased Sim, I received 100% BE reports. While it didn't seem to cause any bugs afterward, the portrait did not appear on the assigned niche. However, other functions worked normally. There's another version where the portrait doesn’t appear when the wall is turned off. I have not tested it yet and am unsure if it will encounter the same issue.

I also tested the version without portraits—wall turned off—and it works fine.

⩥【Troubleshooting Issues: Game or Module Not Running Normally】 ↴

1. Confirm the installation path:
   Ensure that the installation path is correct. If you have any questions about module installation, refer to the installation tutorial video.

2. Delete old files before installing new ones:
   Always delete the old version of the file before installing the new one. Do not overwrite files during installation. If this is your first time installing the module, you can ignore this step.

3. Regularly delete cache files:
   Locate and delete the cache file at The Sims 4/localthumbcache.package.

4. 1. Script file placement:
      If the module includes a script file (.ts4script), ensure that the script file is not placed more than one folder deep. Example: Mods > Custom folder > ts4script.

   ❞ If the issue persists after following the above steps:
   Temporarily remove all other mods from the Mods folder,

   leaving only the problematic module and any custom mods required for its functionality. Before launching the game, make sure to delete the cache file again, then test the module with a new save file.

   ↪ If the problem is resolved:
   This indicates a conflict with one of the removed mods. Use the 50/50 troubleshooting method to identify the conflicting mod. (Refer to the video guide on resolving mod conflicts.)

   ↪ If the problem persists:
   Ensure that your game version, module file, and Chinese translation file are up to date. Verify that all necessary components listed under [Required DLC & Custom Mods] and [Other Mod Conflicts & Compatibility] are properly installed.    ⩥【How to Resolve Chinese Display Issues】 ↴

   ❞ If the Chinese version appears blank or is not displayed:

   • Confirm whether the installation path is correct and not too deeply nested (e.g., Mods > Custom Folder > Chinese Version File).
   • Delete the "!" at the beginning of the Chinese version file name (only delete the "!" symbol).
   • For MAC users, replace the "!" at the beginning of the file name with "1" or "A".

   ❞ Simplified Chinese Language Support:

   • Simplified Chinese does not require a separate patch but is only supported in games set to Simplified Chinese.
   • If your game is set to Traditional Chinese, the Simplified Chinese version may not display correctly.
   • For players with the game set to Simplified Chinese, if the text appears blank, please leave a message to report the issue.
