After the Park of Roses, I became interested in remaking all the community lots of Willow Creek. Of those, the library seemed the easiest, due to being the easiest to decorate. I did some research on New Orleans Architecture, bulldozed the lot and used the original building as inspiration.
I had no idea when I would make another library, and Book Nook matched the cozy and vibe I was going for, so I used it for the interior, along with Blooming Rooms for the plant curtains and clutter. Using them made decorating much easier, but the layout still took many attempts and I had to research libraries as well.
I learned that it doesn't have just books, but other activities as well. Mine has a space for kids; a sunroom for hosting events, such as chess tournaments; a room with workbenches and one with easels. There's also an attic, where I imagine it's a "not so secret" hangout space for teens.
I had a lot fun making this library and absolutely love it. However, during playtesting my sim got weirdly overlit, and I traced it back to the open stairs, which were allowing the the lights from the other floors affect my sim as well. I managed to reduce it by closing off all the stairs and sizing down doors to avoid compromising my build layout, which unfortunately created similar bugs as my first Mediterranean build (objects below certain height disappearing).
