Today, I'm going to show you my creation of the week: “The Belfry”! It should have been released last month, but it fell on a week when I wasn't feeling well at all, so here it is now!

So, what is a belfry? Some of you may have heard of it without really knowing what it is, but it's a building that's characteristic of the Middle Ages ;-)

A belfry is a secular monument, built like a tower. It's a building that demonstrates the freedom granted to a city by its suzerain, most often in terms of trade. It therefore symbolized a certain autonomy for the city and thus a certain power. However, this did not exempt the city from its duties to the suzerain, who could decide to destroy the belfry as punishment, thus depriving the city of its reputation and autonomy, which was extremely damaging.

The belfry could be erected in a location specially designated for it or attached to a public building such as a town hall. It was most often equipped with a bell, which marked the daily rhythm of the population's life and could also serve as an alert in case of attack. In some cases, it was also equipped with a clock. On the coast, it could also serve as a lighthouse.

These were fairly imposing structures, as they were meant to reflect the glory of the city. They also housed offices and archives, particularly on the commercial and maritime life of the city.

The belfry was therefore synonymous with prestige for any place that had one!

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

It's very easy to get this construction in your game, just follow these instructions:

• Download the folder by clicking on the link at the bottom of this page.

• Open the folder and put everything it contains in the ‘Tray’ folder in your game, here's where to find it:

• That's it! You can start your game and enjoy the terrain you'll find in your library ;-)

Aujourd'hui, je vous fais découvrir ma construction de la semaine : "The Belfry" !
Elle aurait du sortir le mois dernier mais c'est tombé la semaine où je ne me sentais pas bien du tout, la viola donc maintenant !

Alors, qu'est ce qu'un beffroi ? Certains d'entre vous en ont peut-être déjà entendu parler, sans vraiment savoir de quoi il s'agit, c'est pourtant un bâtiment caractéristique du moyen âge ;-)

Un beffroi est un monument séculier, érigé comme une tour. C'est un bâtiment qui démontre la liberté d'une ville accordée par son suzerain, en terme de commerce le plus souvent. Il symbolisait donc une certaine autonomie de la cité et donc une certaine puissance. Toutefois, ça n'exemptait pas des devoirs envers le suzerain qui pouvait décider de la destruction du beffroi en guise de punition, privant ainsi la cité de sa réputation et son autonomie, ce qui était extrêmement préjudiciable.

Le beffroi pouvant être érigé a un emplacement spécialement destiné pour lui ou être accolé à une bâtiment publique comme un hôtel de ville. Il était le plus souvent pourvu de cloche, qui rythmait le quotidien journalier de la population et pouvait aussi servir d'alerte en cas d'attaque. Il sera aussi muni d'horloge dans certains cas. Sur le bord de mer, il pouvait également servir de phare.

Constructions assez imposante car elle devait reflétait la gloire de la ville, on y abritait aussi des bureaux et des archives, notamment sur le vie commerciale et maritime de la cité.

Le beffroi était donc synonyme de prestige pour tout endroit qui en possédait un !

Pour avoir cette construction dans votre jeu, c'est très simple, il vous suffit de suivre ces instructions :

• Télécharger le dossier en cliquant sur le lien en bas de cette page

• Ouvrez le dossier et mettez tout ce qu'il contient dans le dossier "Tray" de votre jeu, voici l'endroit où le trouver :

• Voila ! Vous pouvez lancer votre jeu et profiter du terrain que vous trouverez dans votre bibliothèque, en jeu ;-)
